ESCRS Launches New Patient Portals for Cataract and Refractive Surgery

The ESCRS is pleased to announce the launch of its new Patient Portals, designed to support individuals considering cataract or refractive surgery. These resources aim to improve patient understanding and confidence by providing clear, accessible information about procedures, risks, benefits, and recovery.

The portals are divided into two dedicated sections:

Each portal includes detailed explanations of surgical options, aftercare guidance, and a glossary of terms to help patients navigate medical language.

To support member clinics in sharing these resources, ESCRS has developed a set of downloadable posters and slides. These materials are available in English, French, and German, and include QR codes linking directly to the portals. They are designed for use in waiting rooms, consultation areas, and digital displays.

These materials are available exclusively to ESCRS members and can be accessed via the Patient Portal page on the ESCRS website.

The launch is being supported by a communications campaign across newsletters, EuroTimes, and social media. Members are encouraged to share the materials and help raise awareness of this valuable new resource.
