(19) Coloboma with PC tear rescue

This video highlights the difficulties associated with dense cataract phacoemulsification in an eye with iridolenticular coloboma and to illustrate a useful technique of intrascleral intraocular lens fixation in the absence of capsular support. Surgical video showing phacoemulsification of a dense cataract in an eye with iridolenticular coloboma and zonular weakness. Inadvertent posterior capsular rupture during intraocular lens(IOL) insertion resulted in insufficient capsular support and a transconjunctival 'double needle' technique of intrascleral IOL fixation was uitilized. Tips and pearls for successful completion of this complicated case will be shared.
