French Assessment Of People At Risk

People at risk are defined by the Haut Conseil de la santé publique (French High Council for Public Health) HCSP as follows: people aged 70 and over, patients with a history of cardiovascular disease: complicated hypertension, stroke or coronary heart disease, cardiac surgery, heart failure stage NYHA Functional Classification III or IV, insulin-dependent diabetics with blood-sugar imbalance or complications secondary to their pathology, people with chronic respiratory pathology likely to deteriorate during a viral infection, patients with chronic renal failure on dialysis, patients with cancer under treatment, individuals with congenital or acquired immunosuppression, patients with stage B cirrhosis, people with morbid obesity (body mass index> 40kg/m²) as observed with influenza A (H1N1) 09, pregnant women in the final three months of the pregnancy. Also considered at risk are individuals with congenital or acquired immunosuppression, whether the latter is pharmacological, linked to an HIV infection (uncontrolled or with CD4 <200 / mm3), consecutive to a transplant or linked to a malignant haemopathy that is being treated.
