NIDEK has introduced the VersaCam digital medical scope for rapid digital video and still image capture of retinal and anterior segment pathology. "The camera with a 40° angle-of-view, provides high-quality retinal images. Dual white and blue lights are included to evaluate fluorescein staining. The ability to immediately show patients their pathology facilitates easier patient education and informed consent," said a company spokesman. "As well as capturing and showing an image, VersaCamTM can record the captured image," said the spokesman. About 80,000 images can be saved on a micro SD memory card. Also captured images can be imported to image filing software," he said.
