The Virtual 25th ESCRS Winter Meeting will take place from 19 - 21 February, 2021.
Due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Meeting will not take place in Krakow, Poland, as was originally planned but will be hosted on an interactive virtual platform. Expert speakers, chairpersons and panellists will deliver a programme covering a range of hot topics and including lively discussion and debate.
The meeting is being convened in conjunction with the Cataract and Refractive Surgery Section, Polish Ophthalmological Society.
ESCRS is delighted to have continued support from Industry. The 3D virtual exhibition will allow delegates to meet with companies as usual, and a full schedule of sponsored lunchtime satellite symposia will be on offer. There is also a brand-new session where experts will discuss the latest innovations from industry.
There will be many ways for delegates to interact during sessions and at a personal level. During every session delegates can ask questions to the speakers and panellists by using the live chat feature. Questions from the audience will be discussed during interactive Q&A sessions at the end of the symposia.
Breakout rooms will be available at the end of the symposia, for delegates to join a face-to-face discussion on the topic with a small group of people. A new video chat feature means delegates can connect easily and personally with other delegates, and with the companies in the exhibition.
Delegates can also enjoy a relaxation room which will include yoga and meditation sessions.
With so much on offer, it will be impossible to attend every session during the live meeting. However, delegates will have access to the virtual meeting platform until the end of March. After that, members can log on to the Education Portal on the ESCRS website to access the sessions and didactic courses on ESCRS On Demand and ESCRS iLearn, as well as discover a wide range of video content and other materials.
