Purpose

To make a clearance for the medico legal issues about two trendy surgical procedures

Setting

Keratopigmentation and CAIRS surgeries, while gaining popularity for cosmetic eye color change and intrasteomal corneal allogenic segments present significant medicolegal concerns. Both procedures carry risks of serious complications, including vision loss, infection, and corneal damage, which must be thoroughly communicated to patients. The ophthalmic societies warn against these surgeries for purely aesthetic reasons due to potential adverse outcomes and without informed consents.Legal implications arise from inadequate patient consent and the responsibility of practitioners to disclose risks, leading to increased scrutiny and potential liability in cases of post-operative complications

Conclusion

Since the aesthetic concerns of innovative ophthalmic
surgeries for a while, Keratopigmentation (KTP) and
Cornel Allogenic Intrastromal Rings (CAIRS)
are being more talked about.

Surgeons have to know these sinister manners.
