Purpose
- Purpose To Verify whether minimal depth and volume surface ablations, with intentionally skipped undertreated/untreated a.reas within the Optical Zone (“clipped”topography guided ablations), actually decrease corneas HO-RMS as much as predicted by the Foresight Schwind’s Software.
Setting
Athens Eye Center, Athens Greece,
Schwind Eye Tech Solutions, Kleinheim Germany
Methods
- Methods: A proprietary software (Schwind’s Clipped Topography Software) was used to design minimal depth ablations with intentionally undertreated/untreated areas within the OZ. Schwind’s Foresight software was used to predict the change of the same cornea’s HO RMS.
Results
- Results: TransPRK Clipped topography guided ablations was performed in 3 eyes of 3 patients with stage II keratoconus. We present here the pre and post topographies and compare them with the prediction model.
Conclusion
- Discussion: Prediction of the outcome of intentionally undertreated complex surface ablations is now possible with the Schwind’s Foresight. The Clipped topography software is a valuable tool that with the help of AI may soon be able to create any complex ablation of given volume/ pattern towards "best possible", optimal visual rehabilitation.
