Purpose

to report a case of bilateral peripheric ulcerative keratitis (PUK) after simple limbal epithelial transplantation surgery (SLET) in a patient with pseuriasis.

Setting

umraniye research and training hospital , ophthalmology clinic

Report of case

A 55 year old male patient presented with 180 degree corneal conjunktivalization secondary to alkali burn in right eye . SLET  had been done to patient. In 3 rd     day of surgery , peripheric  corneal infiltrates was seen under amniotic membrane . Same day amniotic membrane was removed  culture was taken from the infiltrate area . Infiltrates spread circumferencially in peripheric cornea , confocal microscopy revealed fungal hyphae. Both PUK and antifungal treatment applied to patient , 22 day after surgery cornea totally epithelized and infiltrates healed with peripheric corneal haze. One  month after surgery patient presented with tearing and secretion in left eye. Biomicroscopic examination revealed peripheric ulcerative keratitis in left eye. Systemic steroid , antibiotic and artificial tear treatment applied and keratitis healed with peripheric corneal scarring .

Conclusion / Take home message

Herein we represent a previously undocumented association of bilateral PUK  after SLET surgery in a patient with pseuriasis.  Ulcerative keratitis in pseuriasis is a rare variant of psoriatic ocular inflammatory disease.
