Purpose
To evaluate the the refractive outcomes and patient reported satisfaction of single-step photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (TransPRK ) for the correction hyperopia.
Setting
ophthalmology clinics
Methods
This study a retrospective descriptive cohort consecutively included 25 hyperopic eyes. Eyes with compound hyperopic astigmatism and mixed astigmatism that had undergone PRK and TransPRK treatment. Pre- and post-operative visual and refractive data, as well as patient’s reported satisfaction were analyzed from the year of 2014 until the year 2020.
Results
Out of 92 eyes included, 50 were males and 50undergone TransPRK. Hyperopic refraction ranges from +0.25 to +5.00 before treatment and ranges from Plano to +3.75 at last follow-up. Twenty-eight percent of patients reported overall satisfaction while 24% were very unsatisfied.
