Purpose
To present an efficient management of residual astigmatism after refractive surgery with wrong input of refractive error to excimer laser platform.
Setting
1. Ophthalmology Department of Central Medical Office of Thessaloniki of Police Association, Thessloniki 2. Ophthalmos team, Thessaloniki. 3. 3st University Department of Ophthalmology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, AHEPA Hospital. 4. Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, Surrey,UK
Methods
A refractive surgery procedure was performed uneventfully to a 29 female. At immediately after surgery post – op examination was appeared a residual astigmatism due to wrong input of refractive error to excimer laser platform. A second procedure was planned and performed after 1 week that considered a flap lift and residual refractive error correction. There was concern about the time of the enhancement.
Results
One month after the final procedure vision acuity was 10/10 in both eyes and the visual outcome excellent
Conclusions
We present an efficient management of residual astigmatism after refractive surgery with wrong input of refractive error to excimer laser platform.
