Purpose
To prove equivalence of Advanced vision analyser’s 10-2 Elisar standard algorithm (ESA) with 10-2 SITA Standard (SS) of Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA).
Setting
Narang Eye Care & Laser Centre, India; Dr. Agarwal's Eye Research Centre, India
Methods
All subjects enrolled in the study underwent a 10-2 test with AVA and HFA. After implementing the exclusion and inclusion criteria, the threshold estimates of 112 eyes of 107 subjects [64 Glaucoma subjects (66 eyes);35 healthy controls (36 eyes); 9 glaucoma suspect subjects (10 eyes)] were analysed. Pointwise sensitivity analysis, Intra class correlation (ICC) and comparison with Bland Altman plots were done to compare the 10-2 threshold estimates obtained with both devices.
Results
Bland Altman plot showed significant correlation for mean sensitivity (MS), mean deviation (MD) and pastern standard deviation (PSD) values for both devices. Correlation coefficient for pointwise threshold values strongly correlated for both the devices.
For MS, overall ICC value was 0.96 (P<0.001) with MB of 0.0 dB and limits of agreement (LOA) range of 7.59.
Conclusions
Statistical results denote adequate equivalence between AVA and HFA as threshold estimates of AVA strongly correlate with HFA for 10-2 program.
