Results
The binocular combination of the two lenses provided mean values of uncorrected visual acuity of 0.00 LogMAR at far and better than 0.05 LogMAR at intermediate (66 cm) and near (40 cm) distances.
The PRSIQ results showed that 9 of the 10 patients didn’t use glasses for far and intermediate tasks and 8 patients didn’t use glasses at near distance.
From QoV surveys, for each symptom, 8 or more patients never reported that symptom, and when they did, the levels of severity and bothersome were low. Only one patient reported glare and halos but with low impact in his daily tasks.
Conclusions
Most patients implanted with the bilateral combination of Art40 and Art70 IOLs were spectacle independent for all daily activities and all viewing distances. Given the refractive nature of these IOLs the patients did not report any relevant negative visual symptoms.
