Purpose
Setting
Compare 2 groups undergoing phacoemulsification surgery with panoptix trifocal intraocular lens implant in Brazil and China.
Methods
We collected 100 patients in Brazil and 100 patients in China who have undergone cataract surgery and AcrySof IQ® PanOptix IOL (TFNT00) implantation. Postoperative examination at 1 months included uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), manifest refraction spherical equivalence (MRSE). Questionnaries have been submitted to patients to assess patients’ satisfaction and visual quality. The level of patients’ satisfaction between Brazil and China and between different subgroups have been compared and analyzed.
Results
BCVA at 3 months are 0.009±0.028 and 0.023±0.055 logMAR in Brazil and China (P=0.021). For subjective assessment, Patients in China tend to report higher level of satisfaction on near vision, while patients in Brazil gained higher score on distance vision. The normal axial length (AL) group shows the highest level of satisfaction. Patients with one or two comorbities show greater satisfaction than those without any comorbility.
