Purpose
To draw a comparison between the change in the Pretarsal Height (PTH) of children having primary congenital glaucoma (PCG) on topical prostaglandin analogue (PGA) with children having PCG not on PGA.
Setting/Venue
VMMC and Safrdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, India
Methods
The study population included children below 10 years of age with PCG for at least 6 months. 20 were started on TPA (Group 1) and 22 were control (Group 2). Pretarsal height was taken as an indicator for deepening of sulcus of eyelids.
Results
A significant change in the PTH was seen between the two group. Mean difference was ≥1.2mm (p< 0.02)
Conclusions
As there was significant increase in the PTH of children with PCG, started of PGA, it is essential to counsel the family about possible future periorbitopathy.
