Purpose
To study the application of multifocal electroretinography in the detection of functional changes in macular pathologies.
Setting/Venue
The study include 6 patients (6 eyes) aged 35-75 years. Visual acuity fluctuated in the range of 0.02-0.6
Methods
In addition to standart examinations, the patients undervent multifocal ectrortinography (mf-ERG) , color fundus image of the fundus nd optical coherence tomography (OCT) During multifocal electroretinography examination, P1 amplitudes and latencies were mesuared in concentric rings.
Results
Amplitudes decreased in all patients according to the pathological changes. Correspondence between the degree of pathological change and the amplitude was determined. Exept for central serous choioretinopthy no significant correlation between latency and amplitude and pathological change was observed in other pathologies
Conclusions
Multifocal electroretinography is a crucial diagnostic method in the assesment of functional changes in various pathologies of th emacula.
