Statistical accuracy the key to getting research published

In an editorial in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, noted ophthalmic surgeon and Editor of the Journal, Thomas Kohnen MD PhD provides some useful advice to fellow ophthalmologists on how to get their work published. He notes that a common failing of many submitted studies is a lack of good statistical analysis. He recommended that when possible, If you have the opportunity, we recommend authors should discuss their research plan with a statistician before commencing their research and also when they are preparing their final manuscript. He also advised researchers to collate data in accord with the requirements of their chosen Journal.
