Panoramic Stockholm & the Vasa Museum

Covering the districts of Södermalm, Gamla Stan, Norrmalm, Östermalm and Djurgården, your tour begins with a drive to Fjällgatan for a panoramic view of the city. Cross Gamla Stan, the medieval Old Town, and pass by the Royal Palace. Proceed to the island of Djurgården to visit the Vasa Museum. The museum is built around the 17th century warship which sank in Stockholm's inner harbour on her maiden voyage in 1628 and
was salvaged in 1961. Continue through the diplomatic areas and the fashionable neighbourhood of Östermalm to the modern areas of Hamngatan and Sergels Torg.

City Hall & Millesgården

City Hall was inaugurated in 1923 and is renowned for its architecture, murals, mosaics and for being the site for the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Experience the grandeur and
spaciousness of the impressive Blue Hall and Golden Chamber and enjoy the beautiful view from the City Hall Garden. Then drive through the city centre en route to Millesgården where the estate and studio of Carl Milles is located on the island of
Lidingö. Here his world famous sculptures are on display in terraced gardens overlooking the Baltic Sea.

Alfred Nobel and the Nobel Prize

In 1895 Alfred Nobel signed his last will, writing that physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace would each year receive a part of the revenues of his fortune. Visit the fascinating Nobel Museum, which aims to create interest and discussion around
the natural sciences and culture through creative learning and exhibitions, modern technology and elegant design. Continue to City Hall, renowned for its architecture, murals, mosaics and for being the site for the annual Nobel Prize banquet, and experience the grandeur and spaciousness of the impressive Blue Hall and Golden Chamber.

Stockholm Beauty on Water

This tour gives an excellent introduction to the city from land as well as from the water. Pass the Old Town, Gamla Stan, with the Royal Palace overlooking Stockholm's inner harbour. The island of Riddarholmen is dominated by a 13th century church, a place for royal burials. The Old Wrangel Palace houses the Court of Appeal and has a wonderful view of City Hall. Board a boat for a canal tour into Stockholm's National City Park. Cruise around Djurgården, once a Royal hunting area, with the Gröna Lund
Tivoli, the Skansen Open Air Museum and the Vasa Museum. Out on more open waters you will pass Fjäderholmarna, the Feather Islands, before rejoining your coach. Continue to the island of Djurgården before returning to the city. (Itinerary may be in a different order.)

Drottningholm Palace & Court Theatre

Drottningholm, with the Royal Palace, the Court Theatre and the Chinese Pavilion, is located on the island of Lovön in lake Mälaren. Visit the State Apartments in this 18th century Palace which has been the residence of the Swedish Royal Family since 1981. Continue for a visit to the Drottningholm Court Theatre, whose original sets, stage machinery and props are fully restored and in perfect working order. After the visits, enjoy some free
time for a walk in the landscaped gardens.
